The Winners of the 11th Annual Mobile Photography Awards

The Mobile Photography Awards has announced their 11th Annual Selections to recognize the best international photography taken with smartphones.

Mobile Photography Awards is an international competition that awards photos taken on smartphones and tablets. It was established in 2011. From over 5,500 submissions in over 90 countries, the judging panel chose winners across 12 themes, including Landscapes and Portraits, Black & Whites, Visual FX, Street Photography, and Black & White. Each category winner will be awarded a $500 cash prize, while the Grand Prize winner will take home $3,000.

“The 11th Annual Mobile Photography Awards stand as a testament to another year in the ongoing story and evolution of mobile phone cameras,” says The Mobile Photography Awards founder Daniel Berman, a photographer, and filmmaker based near Toronto, Canada.

While the iPhone is still the most popular among our entrants, this year we have seen many different camera phones being used to capture our winning photos. Every year, the work we see is better each year.”

Grand Prize Winner Liu KunKun

The grand prize winner this year has been awarded to Liu KunKun, a Shanghai-based amateur photographer who used an Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.

KunKun describes his work as “I attempt to dismantle and then reorganize the landscape with a simple visual vocabulary to express new abstract imagery, and explore the boundaries and photography.”

He has a mastery over perspective and geometry, and when combined with color and minimalism, he transmits a feeling of awe.
Rodrigo Rivas, a Mobile Photography Awards jury member, said that KunKun’s work was “photographic and personal.”
