Oppenheim Architecture has revealed the design for the Jali Hotel & Residences, a luxury resort on the southern coast of Albania. The project will be built in the picturesque landscape of the site and offer residents and visitors access to a lively beach club and recreational amenities.
To create a “sympathetic, timeless” response in the resort, the project architects analyzed the local architecture heritage and spirit. The result was a reinterpretation traditional Albanian coastal houses, with stacked buildings and communal spaces that span large areas, as well as extensive use of local materials.
Residents and visitors can use the integrated common cultural centre to meet, shop, and enjoy local cuisine. The amenities include a spa and fitness suite, a casino, and a beachside club. You can also enjoy private villas, suites, and private apartments in the hotel.
Oppenheim Architecture isn’t the first to have a site-inspiration project unveiled at the resort. The firm completed the Ayla Golf Academy & Clubhouse in Aqaba (Jordan) in 2019. It took inspiration from the natural dunescapes, mountains, and architectural heritage of the ancient Bedouin. The leisure development covers 44 kilometers and includes residential, commercial, as well as hotel space. It is centered around the 18-hole course.
